Advocates for Children, Inc.
"A Powerful Voice in Court for
Abused Children!"
Mission Statement
"A CASA Program"
Serving Orange, Jasper, Newton, Hardin, Sabine & Tyler counties.
"CASA is a non-profit organization that consists of trained
volunteers who advocate for abused, neglected or
abandoned children in our region.  These children are
generally placed in foster care by the courts and CASA is
assigned to investigate the child's case and report to the court
"what is in the best interest of the child(ren)."  Judges review
this and other information to determine the best placement
for the child(ren)."

degree or legal experience.  It does require special caring

  • A concern for children & the genuine desire to help;
  • the ability to remain objective & the maturity to deal
    with emotional situations;
  • Sensitivity to cultural & ethnic differences;
  • The commitment to complete a 30 hour training course;
  • Access to transportation & a schedule flexible enough
    to attend periodic court hearings;
  • A willingness to devote approximately 1 year to
    complete an assigned case;
  • It is a plus to be computer-literate to write court reports
